Tim Chovanec has been representing Texas clients since 1981. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law (since 1986) and Personal Injury Trial Law (since 1986). His Texas Supreme Court cases are some of the most frequently cited precedents in Texas jurisprudence over the last four decades. He has successfully litigated claims in both state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. He has served as a lecturer for the State Bar of Texas and Texas law schools on topics ranging from jury selection and jury submission to insurance bad faith and damages. He has served as Chair of the Consumer Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, Chair of the Texas Pattern Jury Charge – Business, Insurance, Employment – Committee and as a member of the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Oversight Committee (1998 – 2016). He handles a wide range of civil trial and civil appeal claims on behalf of governmental entities, individuals and businesses (excepting insurance companies) on both sides of the docket.
